FIDAE Dual Hub Summit: Collaboration Driving Dual Innovation in Chile

The fourth edition of the event will take place on April 10 at FIDAE 2026, building a network of strategic partnerships that bring together science, defense, industry, and entrepreneurship to strengthen the dual innovation ecosystem.

In a global landscape shaped by various geopolitical factors, the restructuring of supply chains, and growing technological competition, dual-use innovation—which is designed from the outset to develop capabilities with applications in both the civilian and defense sectors—is emerging as a strategic pillar for the development of national capabilities.

In this context, the challenge is to achieve effective coordination among stakeholders. Chile is making progress in building an ecosystem that integrates science, industry, defense, and the public sector, with the goal of transforming knowledge into strategic capabilities that make a real difference.

In this context, one of the key events will be the “FIDAE 2026 Dual Hub Summit,” which will take place on April 10 at Latin America’s leading aerospace, defense, and security trade show. This new edition represents a significant step forward in strengthening partnerships, particularly the collaboration with the Chilean Air Force and FIDAE.

Launched by Know Hub Chile, it has established itself as a platform for coordination among sectors that have traditionally operated in isolation, promoting collaboration as the cornerstone for developing impactful technological solutions.

“One of the key values of the Dual Hub Summit is precisely to create these opportunities for interaction. When different sectors get to know one another, understand what each is doing, and begin to collaborate, real opportunities for development emerge. Dual innovation requires this kind of coordination to move forward,” says Javier Ramírez, executive director of Know Hub Chile.

The growth of the Dual Hub Summit has been marked by a network of partnerships with key institutions across the country. Its first edition, held in Concepción, was made possible through a collaboration with the University of Bío-Bío. The second edition, held in Santiago, was organized in collaboration with the University of Chile, while the third, held in Viña del Mar, was carried out in partnership with the Navy’s Naval Polytechnic Academy, strengthening ties with the defense sector.

This new edition marks a milestone with the participation of the Chilean Air Force, which will present its FACH Dual Innovation Model, aimed at strengthening collaboration with the various stakeholders in the dual innovation ecosystem.
