The Dual Hub Library brings together specialized publications on dual innovation developed byKnow Hub Chile.

These publications present conceptual frameworks, models, experiences, and lessons learned regarding systematic collaboration between the defense sector and the civilian Science , Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation (STKI) ecosystem .

They are an open invitation to the entire national ecosystem to join in the development of dual innovation, which holds enormous potential for the advancement of the country’s productive sector, strategic independence, and social cohesion.

Dual Hub Impact is the first magazine published by the Dual Hub platform, released in May 2026 to coincide with the fourth Dual Hub Summit, held on April 10 as part of FIDAE 2026.

It brings together coverage of the event, insights from representatives of the Chilean and international dual-track ecosystem, and a look back at the four editions of the Summit since its inception in Concepción in May 2025.

Through articles, testimonials, and a timeline of the programs launched by Dual Hub, the magazine documents the collaboration between the Armed Forces, academia, industry, and the public sector that has shaped dual innovation in Chile.

This book compiles the illustrated notes from the fourth Dual Hub Summit, held on April 10, 2026, as part of FIDAE in Santiago.

This book presents a conceptual framework for dual innovation based on the compilation and analysis of the experiences of CITA and Know Hub Chile. It is the result of a collaborative effort aimed at proposing an initial model of dual innovation for Chile, taking into account the interaction between the civilian sector and the defense sector in the innovation process.

Conceptual Framework

Key concepts covered in the publication

DUAL INNOVATION

It is defined as the interaction between the civilian sector and the defense sector in the innovation process, with the aim of creating value in both contexts. It involves collaboration and the joint development of technological solutions that can be used in both civilian and military applications.

TECHNICAL PROBLEM

A description of a specific situation that arises in a particular context and requires a technological solution. This is the first stage of the technological process, which then, through technological development, evolves into a technological solution.

TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

The creation and improvement of products, processes, or services through the application of scientific and technical knowledge. This involves various stages, ranging from identifying needs, research, and analysis, to design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTION

The culmination of the technological process, which includes needs assessment, research and analysis, conceptual and detailed design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance. These projects can range from basic research to products, processes, or services currently available on the market.

THURSDAY, JUNE 6, 2024 · CORFO, SANTIAGO

The book launch took place at the headquarters of the Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO). The event featured a discussion between CITA’s Head of Planning, First Lieutenant Francisca Lema, and Know Hub Chile’s Innovation Coordinator, Jovanka Trebotich, moderated by journalist Davor Gjuranovic.
